The most amazing benefit of
the sun comes from the ability of plants and trees to photosynthesize. Plants get energy from the sun when sunlight is converted into chemical energy by chlorophyll. Chlorophyll gives plants their green color. Photosynthesis takes place in chloroplasts, cells found in the leaves of a plant. Carbon dioxide and water are also needed for photosynthesis. |

The sheep are our solar lawn mowers. By eating our grass, they save us time not having to cut grass, save money on lawn equipment and gasoline, and don’t pollute the air with exhaust fumes. They convert grass into lambs, meat and fleece. Plus, as they eat, they fertilize the pasture and lawn, increasing its fertility. |
